WHO WE ARE

Creative Therapy Autism Centre is a locally owned practice, founded in 2019, that provides assessment and evidence-based intervention for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other development delays in Northwestern Ontario. 

Creative Therapy Autism Centre employs a team of qualified professionals that work with children and youth, in partnership with their families, to develop needs-based programs to fit each child’s individual profile.   Creative Therapy Autism Centre recognizes the struggles that the families of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Northwestern Ontario.

We believe that families know their children best and need to be an integral part of the planning process. Creative Therapy Autism Centre aims to work collaboratively with clients’ families and all community partners involved in order to provide effective, comprehensive and client and family-centred care.

ABOUT US

At Creative Therapy Associates, we believe in the power of collaboration and the importance of providing meaningful, individualized services for children and families. Co-Owners Meaghan McCallum and Karli Atkinson work seamlessly together, each bringing their unique strengths to ensure the highest quality of care.


In 2023, Karli Atkinson and Meaghan McCallum became the co-owners of Creative Therapy Associates. With decades of combined experience working with children and families, Karli and Meaghan have been integral members of CTA's team since the company’s inception. They are committed to creating a collaborative environment where therapy goals are guided by the child, their family, and everyone involved in the child’s circle of care. This inclusive approach ensures that our services are tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.


Karli, M.S, BCBA, R.B.A (Ont.), serves as the Director of Clinical Services, leading an exceptional team of committed and talented professionals. She oversees our interdisciplinary team, ensuring that children receive the support they need to accomplish their goals. Karli is a compassionate leader whose dedication to making a positive impact on children's lives is matched by her expertise in behavior analysis. Her passion for helping others shines through in everything she does, ensuring that every child receives the personalized care they deserve.


Meaghan, with over 20 years of experience as a therapist and Child and Youth Care Practitioner, now serves as the Director of Business. She is passionate about identifying service gaps and works tirelessly with families and community partners to remove barriers to access. Meaghan’s dedication to program development ensures that our services reach all children and families in need. Her unwavering commitment to supporting others, combined with her warmth and dedication, plays a vital role in managing a team of highly skilled and talented professionals to ensure exceptional care for every child and family.


Together, Meaghan and Karli ensure that Creative Therapy Associates continues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services. Our mission is to support children in reaching their fullest potential by providing compassionate care and fostering a supportive environment where families feel empowered. We are committed to expanding our reach, offering services to underserved communities, and building strong partnerships to meet the needs of children and families across Northwestern Ontario.

OUR HISTORY

Creative Therapy Autism Centre was founded in 2019 with a mission to deliver high-quality, meaningful services for children and families. Creative Therapy Autism centre is a branch and sub division of Creative Therapy Associates.  From the beginning, our approach has been driven by a deep passion for helping others and removing barriers to ensure that every individuals has access to effective services.


In 2023, Meaghan McCallum and Karli Atkinson became the proud owners of CTA. Their vision for the future involved expanding services to reach more families in need. Under their leadership, CTA has grown to operate two ABA centers, providing specialized support not just for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder but also for those with a wide range of neurodiversity's.


To further meet the needs of our community, CTA has partnered with local school boards and now operates two multidisciplinary classrooms and in class support, ensuring that more children can access the services they require. Since our founding in 2019, our Behavioral Services team has expanded significantly, now comprising Supervised Behavioural Therapists, Supervised Lead Therapists, Supervised Senior Therapists, Supervised Urgent Response Therapists, and four Registered Behaviour Analysts.


At CTA, we are incredibly proud of our talented team and attribute much of our success to their dedication and hard work in building strong connections with children and families to help them achieve their goals.




OUR MISSION

At Creative Therapy Associates, our mission is to deliver meaningful, client-led goals and remove barriers to services, ensuring that all children have access to the support they need to reach their full potential.

We will achieve this mission by:

  • Providing evidence-based interventions for our clients designed to meet the unique needs of each individual;

  • Delivering services to our clients where they live, work or learn;

  • Encouraging and facilitating the involvement of parents, caregivers and families in the planning and delivery of services that focus on achieving common goals.

OUR TEAM

At Creative Therapy Associates, our team is made up of dedicated and compassionate professionals who are committed to helping children and families reach their fullest potential. Our therapists bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, working collaboratively to provide high-quality, individualized services tailored to each child's unique needs. Our multidisciplinary team includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Behaviour Analysts, Supervised Behaviour Therapists, and Communication Disorder Assistants. Every member of our team is passionate about creating meaningful change and breaking down barriers to access. Together, we strive to foster a supportive, inclusive environment where children can thrive and families feel empowered.
